A sweet little collage that hung in the hall at home for a couple years. For half a dozen years, i worked in a tiny studio above Thistle Finch Distillery in Lancaster PA. I was fond of the distillery's logo, which was/is based on a motif from Pennsylvania Dutch folk art: the DISTELFINK or EUROPEAN GOLDFINCH... both symbol and charm connoting good luck, happiness, and prosperity.

This is an original, handmade, one-of-a-kind artwork... not a print or reproduction. Its surface is 100% currency collage on Coventry Rag (a 1/32" thick 100% cotton fiber paper). The resulting semi-rigid collage has received 3 coats of acrylic varnish. The artwork is signed on the back.

The piece is framed in a matt black Nielsen #117 metal frame which has a simple 7/16" square front face. Artworks is floated in an acid free museum board mat that's 8-ply, warm white, and extends 2" around the artwork. Frames are glazed with UV filtering acrylic. The back of the frame sports a detailed, handwritten, and signed frame label to aid in future identification and authentication.
